According to CHP, an impaired driver drove through a road closure being staffed by officers. CHP conducted a traffic stop and determined the driver showed signs of intoxication. The driver’s blood alcohol concentration was reportedly 0.36% — 4.5 times California’s legal limit of 0.08%. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Road closures during fires and other emergencies are put in place to protect firefighters, law enforcement personnel and the public. Driving through one can put first responders and others at serious risk. If you’ve been drinking, don’t drive.
