A deputy involved collision occurred this morning around 5:30 a.m. on Avenue J and 65th Street West. The deputy was responding to a burglary call in the area when their patrol car was involved in a collision. Initial radio traffic suggested the burglary suspect may have T-boned the patrol car, but this has not been confirmed.

The patrol car ended up in the desert after the impact. Fortunately, the deputy is reported to be okay, with only minor injuries, described as "banged up". The incident is currently under investigation.
