ARMED BARRICADE RESPONSE – NEENACH
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Santa Clarita Valley Station are responding to an active armed barricade incident in Neenach after a reported assault with a firearm.
According to radio traffic, deputies were dispatched Code 3 to the 26800 block of West Avenue C-15 (Hiker Town) near Highway 138 after the reporting party stated a man living in a trailer on the property pointed a handgun at them.
The reporting party also advised the suspect is believed to be a wanted fugitive.
As deputies were responding, the incident was upgraded to a confirmed assault with a firearm involving a possible barricaded suspect. Additional Santa Clarita Station units were requested Code 3.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department has been placed on standby due to the nature of the incident, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) is en route to assist.
The incident remains active. Residents are asked to avoid the area while deputies work to safely resolve the situation.
