ATTEMPTED MURDER ARREST – EL MIRAGE

A 66-year-old Littlerock man was arrested Sunday evening after allegedly firing multiple rounds at another man during an argument in El Mirage.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded at approximately 5:46 p.m. on July 12 to reports of shots fired near Mountain View Road and Colusa Road.

Investigators say Danny Kirkman, 66, allegedly fired two rounds from a handgun at an adult male victim before fleeing the area in a Polaris RZR. Sheriff's Aviation Unit 40K located the RZR and observed Kirkman armed with a firearm. Deputies responded and safely took him into custody.

A search of the Polaris RZR reportedly uncovered two handguns, while a subsequent search warrant served at Kirkman's RV campsite led to the discovery of an additional shotgun.

Kirkman was booked into the High Desert Detention Center on suspicion of attempted murder.

The victim was not injured, and their identity has not been released.
