**BERT FIRE: FORWARD PROGRESS STOPPED ON VEGETATION FIRE NEAR SAN FRANCISQUITO CANYON**
**LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA** — Firefighters responded to a vegetation fire early Saturday morning, October 10, near San Francisquito Canyon Road and the Bouquet Canyon/Spunky Canyon area.
The Bert Fire was initially reported at approximately 5:44 a.m., with the first-arriving unit reporting a 50-by-50-foot vegetation fire burning uphill in heavy brush and grass. No structures were threatened.
The fire grew to approximately one acre, with Incident Command initially reporting the potential for 20 acres within the next hour.
By approximately 6:26 a.m., CHP logs indicated the fire was mostly extinguished, although crews were still working in the area.
**Incident Command has since confirmed that forward progress has been stopped.** All firefighting aircraft have been released, and bulldozers have been canceled.
**Traffic Update:** San Francisquito Canyon Road was affected by fire operations. As of 8:15 a.m., northbound lanes were open, while southbound lanes remained restricted as crews continued working in the area.
