CHP Antelope Valley Investigates Fatal DUI-Related Hit-and-Run Traffic Crash
On September 19, 2025, at approximately 5:13 P.M., California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers from the Antelope Valley Area responded to a traffic crash involving four vehicles on Avenue N, east of 22nd Street West.
Preliminary investigation determined a 25-year-old Compton man was driving a 2008 Mercedes-Benz westbound on Avenue N when he attempted to pass another westbound vehicle by using the north shoulder at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control, crossed into the eastbound lanes, and collided with a 2021 Lexus IS. The Mercedes-Benz then struck the front of a second eastbound vehicle, a 2022 Honda HRV, before debris from the crash damaged a fourth vehicle, a 2019 Honda Accord.
The at-fault driver and his passenger fled the scene on foot in an easterly direction but were apprehended shortly after by an allied agency. A DUI investigation was conducted by the investigating officer, and drug impairment is believed to be a factor in this incident.
Tragically, as a result of the crash, the driver of the Lexus IS, 31-year-old C. Jewkes of Lancaster, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Three additional parties, K. Littizs (25, Compton), K. Wright (22, Compton), and Y. Galvez (32, Palmdale), sustained moderate to major injuries and were transported to Antelope Valley Medical Center for treatment.
K. Littizs and his passenger K. Wright, were arrested and booked into the Los Angeles County Sheriff鈥檚 Office - Palmdale Station.
Prior to this incident, the driver of the Mercedez-Benz had been involved in a separate, unrelated crash and fled the scene before causing the fatal collision on Avenue N.
