Richards, Captain 2041 West Avenue I, Lancaster, CA. 93536 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 16, 2025 California Highway Patrol Antelope Valley Investigates Fatal Traffic Crash on 170th Street East On December 15, 2025, at approximately 6:14 p.m., officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Antelope Valley Area responded to a three-vehicle collision on 170th Street East, north of Rawhide Avenue. Preliminary investigation indicates a 2023 Ford, driven northbound on 170th Street East by I. Zavalataseca, 49, of Lake Los Angeles, drifted into the southbound lanes for reasons still under investigation. The Ford collided head-on with a southbound 2014 Ford driven by L. Henson, 19, of Lancaster, which caused L. Henson to be ejected from the 2014 Ford. After the initial impact, the 2014 Ford continued out of control and struck a southbound 2025 Toyota driven by A. Kadakia, 37, of Irvine. As a result of the crash, Henson sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene, while Zavalataseca and Kadakia suffered major injuries and were transported to Antelope Valley Medical Center for treatment. Investigators determined that Zavalataseca and Kadakia were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision; Henson was not wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol or drug impairment is not suspected as a factor in this crash. Next of kin has been notified.
