Deputies Conducting Vacate Order at Residence Encounter Fatal Incident Inside Home

DATE: May 6, 2026 / 7:56 a.m.

INCIDENT: Death Investigation

LOCATION: 17400 Block of Sequoia Street, Hesperia

DECEDENT: Christopher Eiselstein, 39-year-old Resident of Hesperia

SUMMARY: On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at about 7:56 a.m., deputies from the Sheriff’s Civil Unit arrived at the location to conduct a lockout and remove the residents from the home after a notice to vacate was previously issued. Deputies knocked on the door and received no response. As a maintenance worker on site unlocked the door, deputies heard a sudden muffled noise inside the home. Deputies cleared the residence and located Christopher Eiselstein suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical aid was requested, and Eiselstein was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded and assumed the investigation. Investigators did not note anything suspicious and suspect the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.
