Deputies patrolling Lancaster spotted a suspected hand-to-hand drug transaction near 10th Street West and Avenue I. 👮🏻♂️ When deputies made contact, the driver tried to distance himself from the vehicle after noticing the patrol unit. 🚓
From outside the car, deputies could see suspected narcotics in plain view. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded 7.62 caliber unserialized rifle—commonly known as a “ghost gun.” 🫠
The suspect, a 48-year-old Lancaster resident and convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. He was arrested for multiple weapons violations, including being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a ghost gun, and… an outstanding warrant for domestic violence. 😑
He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 5 at the Antelope Valley Courthouse. 👩🏻⚖️
These kinds of arrests are happening every day, whether we post them to social media or not. Proactive policing matters. Taking illegal guns and drugs off the street helps keep our community safer for everyone.
