Detectives Investigate In-Custody Death in Victorville After Deputies Responded to Impaired Man Acting Erratic

DATE: July 5, 2026, at 7:41 p.m.

INCIDENT: In Custody Death Investigation

LOCATION: 15400 Block of Linderos Street, Victorville

DECEDENT: Willie Blair, 46-year-old Resident of Victorville

SUMMARY: On Sunday, July 5, 2026, at about 7:41 p.m., deputies from Victorville responded to a residence for a male subject, identified as Willie Blair, who was acting erratic and violent with family members. When deputies arrived, they found Blair sitting in a vehicle in the driveway. Blair appeared to be under the influence of drugs and emergency medical aid was requested to help him.

During the contact with Blair, he became uncooperative, exited the vehicle, and advanced toward a deputy. Blair was tased, detained, and transported to the hospital for treatment of his drug impairment and erratic behavior. He was later pronounced deceased.

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded and assumed the investigation. An autopsy will be done in Riverside County to determine the cause of death.
