A Lancaster woman was arrested Tuesday after allegedly attempting to leave a retail store in the 26400 block of Carl Boyer Drive, Canyon Country with nearly $500 worth of unpaid merchandise.

With assistance from store loss prevention personnel, deputies located the woman and took her into custody.

Further investigation revealed the suspect had multiple prior arrests related to theft incidents. The 49-year-old woman was booked on felony charges and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff鈥檚 Station jail, and remains in custody on no bail.
