FATAL CRASH — CHP MOJAVE INVESTIGATING ON SR-14 / SR-58

A fatal traffic collision is under investigation this evening at the southbound State Route 14 off-ramp to State Route 58, according to CHP logs.

The crash was first reported around 5:08 p.m. as a two-vehicle collision involving vehicles merging near the transition. Moments later, callers reported a T-bone crash involving a vehicle exiting the SR-14 connector.

Responding units located at least two vehicles with major front-end damage, including a white Buick SUV. One patient was reported unconscious at the scene.

Emergency crews from Kern County Fire Department responded, and a full lane closure was requested as officials worked the scene.

The incident was confirmed as a fatality. The identity of the victim has not been released.

CHP Mojave is handling the investigation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
