Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Fatal Traffic Crash

The California Highway Patrol, Antelope Valley Area, is investigating a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic crash that occurred last Saturday evening on State Route 18, east of 248th Street East. Preliminary investigation indicates a 31-year-old Riverside woman had been walking across SR-18, at approximately 6:35 p.m., when she was struck by a 2000 Ford pickup truck being driven eastbound on SR-18 by 46-year-old North Hills man.

Emergency medical personnel responded and pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene. The investigating officer, C. Delgado, determined alcohol or drug impairment was not a factor in the crash.
