Victims in Death Penalty Cases Honored Following Commutations 🤍🕊️

37 lives. 37 stories. Not one will be forgotten. Today marks the first anniversary of the Victims of Violent Crime Memorial, a tribute honoring the lives lost to violence in our community. This anniversary feels especially somber following the governor’s announcement that the sentences of all death row inmates will be commuted. Among those cases, 37 victims were members of our community. They had stories, families, and futures. Some were heartbreakingly just children when their lives were taken.

Each rose represents a life stolen, a family forever changed, and a loss our community will never forget. Today, and every day, we remember them. We honor their lives. We stand with their families.
