From Palmdale Sheriff's Station

** Auto Theft Advisory **

Although, Auto Theft Prevention is common knowledge, it's not common practice. With vehicle burglaries on the rise, Palmdale Station would like to remind everyone of a few Auto Theft Prevention tips:

1. Park in well-lit areas. Avoid dark, isolated spots. 2. Keep your doors locked at all times. 3. Keep your windows rolled up when the vehicle is unoccupied. 4. We know it's getting colder but never leave your vehicle running unattended. 5. Install an alarm system, if your vehicle does not have one already. 6. Use a steering wheel locking device. 7. Remove all valuables from the vehicle, never leave them in plain sight. 8. Install a vehicle tracking system, if possible. 9. Install an ignition or fuel kill switch. 10. Utilize your garage to park. 11. Use the emergency break. 12. Don't leave your information inside the vehicle (Pink Slip/Title/Wallet, etc.)

We strongly urge you to follow these safety tips.

Do not allow yourself to become a victim!

New pavement striping and traffic signs are now in place to improve traffic operations and enhance safety during school arrival and dismissal. Here's what drivers need to know: 🚗 During school arrival and dismissal, the bike lane is designated as a vehicle queuing lane. ➡️ The adjacent travel lanes continue to operate normally. 🚫 Student loading and unloading is not permitted from the bike lane. Parents and guardians should continue using the school's designated student loading and unloading area. Please watch for the new signs and pavement markings and help us make this transition a success. Thank you for helping create a safer environment for students, families, bicyclists, pedestrians, and everyone traveling through the area. #DynamicLaneLancaster #CityofLancaster #SafeRoutesToSchool2:28 PM1d agoGeneralLatest details on thunderstorm and shower chances through Wednesday.
