Here are some interesting highlights from today’s meeting of the Lancaster Criminal Justice Commission.
1) The representative from the CHP reported that the completion of the Highway 14 project has been pushed back to summer of 2027 according to CalTrans. He also reported that the CHP AV Office made 38 arrests for DUI in the last month.
2) The representative from the Lancaster Police Department reported that there has been a steady decline in the numbers of shooting calls in areas that Shot Spotter Program is active. He also reported that 35,000 cars entered the parking lots for the AV Fair. Among those vehicles, 9 were stolen and recovered by the Sheriff’s Department.
3) Commissioners discussed vacant and blighted properties. Additionally, they discussed businesses that are selling illegal items or items they are not licensed to sell. City of Lancaster Code Enforcement will be a part of these meetings in the future to report progress in these areas.
