Hesperia Man Arrested for Contacting Minor Online and Possessing Child Abuse Material; Investigators Seek Additional Victims
DATE/TIME: Thursday, September 3, 2026, at approximately 8:30 a.m., INCIDENT: PC 288.3(a) - Contacting a Minor to Commit a Sex Offense PC 311.11(a) - Possession of Child Pornography LOCATION: 16000 block of Adelia Street, Hesperia
SUSPECT: Cameron David Nelson, 29-year-old, Resident of Hesperia SUMMARY: On July 13, 2026, Detective Elizabeth Holguin from the Specialized Investigations Division – Crimes Against Children Detail received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) concerning the possession of child sexual abuse material.
During the investigation, investigators determined Cameron David Nelson used an online chat platform to contact a 15-year-old female, resident of Minnesota. Nelson told the minor he was 17 years old and received explicit images from the female juvenile. At the conclusion of the investigation, Nelson was booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto for violation of PC 288.3(a) and PC 311.11(a), in lieu of $100,000 bail.
