Human Remains Discovered on Apple Valley Property; Specialized Detectives Investigating

SUMMARY: On Friday, June 26, 2026, Apple Valley deputies responded to the 19000 block of Crest Drive for a report of found human remains. The property had been recently purchased, and while walking around the location, the reporting party discovered human remains. Upon arrival, the deputy located the remains and secured the scene.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail responded and assumed the investigation. Detectives, along with the Coroner's Division and Crime Scene Specialists, searched the area and collected multiple bones. A preliminary examination revealed no obvious signs of trauma to the remains. An autopsy will be conducted, while additional information is pending DNA results for the identification of the remains.
