J. Armando Reynoso faces a sentence of 60 years to life in prison for the continuous sexual abuse of a child, which began when the victim was 12 years old.
On September 22, 2026, a Kern County jury convicted Reynoso, age 40, of nine felony counts including: Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child, and Lewd Acts Upon a Child. Four of the convictions carry a life sentence.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy DA Jamila Ha.
On December 31, 2025, the victim reported that Reynoso repeatedly engaged in sexually inappropriate touching and forcibly engaged in sexual intercourse with her on multiple occasions over three years. During a subsequent interview by Kern County Sheriff’s Detectives, Reynoso admitted to many of the crimes he committed.
DA Zimmer commented; “It can be incredibly difficult for a crime victim to relive their trauma throughout the criminal justice process. We hope that after enduring this difficult process, this verdict can provide the victim with some sense of safety and closure.”
Sentencing is set for October 28, 2026.
