According to Incident Command, the fire was initially reported at approximately 5 acres, running uphill in light fuels with a moderate rate of spread. No structures were threatened. The fire later grew to approximately 15 acres, prompting a second alarm response. An aerial assessment from helicopters later reported the fire at 5–10 acres, creeping in light fuels with minimal fire activity. Three helicopters were initially assigned to the incident, but two of the additional aircraft were subsequently canceled. UPDATE: Incident Command has canceled the second alarm as firefighters continue to make progress on the incident. No structures remain threatened. UPDATE 2: The fire is holding at the ridge at approximately 10–15 acres, and crews are making good progress, according to Incident Command. The second alarm has been canceled, and firefighters remain on scene continuing suppression and containment efforts.
