The incident was reported Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at approximately 3:11 PM, on the 13000 Block of East Avenue R-2 in the city of Littlerock. San Bernardino Sheriff's Detectives were conducting a search warrant near Avenue R and 130th Street East. During the course of their investigation, a deputy-involved shooting occurred, and a San Bernardino County Sheriff's detective was struck by gunfire. The detective was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and is listed in stable condition. The suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene. There is no additional information available at this time. According to radio traffic, one San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputy and one suspect have both sustained gunshot wounds. Multiple Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Palmdale Station units have responded to assist at the scene. Sheriff's Air 5 is transporting the wounded deputy to Antelope Valley Medical Center. Initial radio traffic indicates San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies were possibly serving a search warrant when the shooting occurred. Based on radio traffic, it does not appear there are any outstanding suspects at this time, though that has not been officially confirmed. This is a developing incident.
