November 5, 2026
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station released the following statement regarding ICE activity outside its station this morning:
**Official Statement:**
“This morning, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station became aware of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in the public parking lot in front of our station. ICE agents took two individuals into custody following their release from station custody.
Station personnel had no advance notice of the ICE activity. ICE agents are not using any of our secured facilities connected to our station to stage or initiate operations.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department wants to emphasize that we do not participate in any civil immigration enforcement activities. Immigration enforcement is the responsibility of federal law enforcement agencies. The Department does not enforce civil laws such as immigration violations, nor do we ask about an individual’s immigration status when responding to calls for service. Our focus and priority remain on enforcing state and local laws to ensure the safety and well-being of our diverse communities throughout Los Angeles County.”
