On September 23, 2026, at approximately 7:53 pm, personnel from Palmdale Sheriff’s Station responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of 25th Street East and Avenue R-8 within the City of Palmdale. The preliminary facts of this investigation indicate at approximately 7:50 pm a 2021 Toyota Corolla driven by a 40-year-old male was driving north in the two-way turn lane of 25th Street East and made a left turn onto Avenue R-8 right in front of a 2024 Toyota Corolla that was driving south in the number one lane of 25th Street East. The 2021 Toyota Corolla broadsided the 2024 Toyota Corolla in the intersection. A 16-year-old female passenger of the 2024 Toyota Corolla was transported to the hospital. On September 25, 2026, Palmdale Sheriff’s Station Traffic Unit was notified by Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center that the 16-year-old female succumbed to her injuries. The additional individuals involved in the crash sustained minor to serious injuries.
