On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, deputies assigned to the Victorville City Gang Impact Team (VCGIT) conducted an investigation into the illegal possession of firearms by 18-year-old, Jaden Carter, a resident of Victorville. The investigation led to the service of a search warrant at a residence in the 13000 block of Brianhead Court in Victorville.
During the search, deputies recovered a privately manufactured semiautomatic handgun equipped with a threaded barrel, along with a large-capacity magazine. Based on the firearm’s configuration, investigators determined it met the criteria of an assault weapon under California law. A records check also revealed Carter was on active probation and prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
Carter was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for violations of Penal Code section 29800(a)(1) - Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Penal Code section 30605(a) - Possession of an Assault Weapon, and Penal Code section 32310(a), Possession of a Large-Capacity Magazine.
The Victorville City Gang Impact Team remains committed to proactively identifying and removing illegally possessed firearms from our communities before they can be used in acts of violence. Through continued investigative efforts and strategic enforcement, VCGIT works to remove dangerous weapons from the community and hold offenders accountable.
