On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at approximately 11:18 pm, personnel from Palmdale Sheriff’s Station responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision on Sierra Highway, just north of Rancho Vista Boulevard within the City of Palmdale.
The preliminary facts of this investigation indicate at approximately 11:15 pm a pedestrian was walking across the southbound lanes of Sierra Highway when an unknown vehicle crashed into the pedestrian. The driver failed to stop and render aid to the pedestrian or contact law enforcement. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene.
