Over the next several days, relatively benign weather is expected for Southwestern California with a gradual cooling trend through Thursday of next week. However, during this time period, there will be the potential for widespread coastal flooding as high tides are expected to generally range between 7.5 and 8.0 feet (which is 1-1.5 feet above astronomical projections). So, there is the high likelihood of significant beach erosion as well as flooding of beach areas (such as parking lots and bike lanes). If you do venture into the waters, there will also be the potential for strong and dangerous rip currents.
By Friday of next week, a wet and unsettled pattern is expected across the area. There is moderate to high confidence in widespread measurable rainfall for all areas Friday through next weekend. However, due to various model solutions, confidence in rainfall timing and amounts remains rather low. Stay tuned for the latest details on the rain chances next weekend as the forecast will be "ripe" for day-to-day changes.
Have a great rest of your weekend!!!!!!!
