Our officer spotted a vehicle stopped on the right shoulder of the freeway. The driver wasnât broken down or in distress â they had pulled over to poop right there on the shoulder. Yes, really.
In the Temecula/Murrieta area along I-215, off-ramps come every couple of miles and every exit has proper restrooms. There is literally zero valid reason this should ever happen.

Knowledge backed by facts: According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, roughly 12% of all interstate highway deaths involve pedestrians on the roadway or shoulder â thatâs about 610 lives lost every year nationwide. Stopping on the shoulder (unless itâs a true emergency) turns you and everyone else into a statistic waiting to happen.
