Pursuit tied to deadly Pomona shooting ends in Lancaster

A pursuit involving a vehicle wanted in connection with a deadly shooting in Pomona ended Thursday evening in Lancaster.

According to CHP, the pursuit involved a black Kia wanted by the Pomona Police Department. The vehicle was initially pursued in northern Los Angeles County before exiting the 5 Freeway around 6:15 p.m. and continuing north on Lake Hughes Road through the Newhall area. The pursuit later entered Lancaster with multiple CHP units involved.

CHP deployed spike strips disabling at least two tires on the suspect vehicle.

CHP then performed a PIT maneuver on 20th Street West, bringing the pursuit to an end.

No additional information on suspects, arrests, or the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting has been released.
