RIDGECREST POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE September 25, 2026
Detectives Arrest Suspect in Attempted Robbery Case No. 26-2633
On September 24, 2026, Ridgecrest Police Department officers responded to a reported robbery in progress at Taco Bell, 1240 N. China Lake Boulevard. An employee told officers that a man reached through the drive-thru window, grabbed him by the shirt, and demanded money from the register. The employee struck the man in the face, causing him to move away from the window. The man fled toward Ward Avenue.
Officers searched the surrounding area but did not locate the suspect. Detectives obtained surveillance footage from Taco Bell and a nearby Kwik Serv as part of their investigation.
On September 25, 2026, the Ridgecrest Police Department Detective Bureau identified and located the suspect, Anthony Christopher Bowie of Bakersfield, California, and arrested him in connection with the attempted robbery.
