BARSTOW, CA — A deputy assigned to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Barstow Station recovered more than $28,000 worth of stolen LEGO sets Monday evening.

Deputy Rivera located an abandoned van containing several large boxes. Knowing about recent train burglaries in the area, Rivera contacted BNSF Police to help identify the merchandise.

BNSF Police confirmed the boxes were connected to a recent boxcar burglary and took possession of the recovered property.

Inside the van were 123 McLaren F1 LEGO sets, valued at approximately $230 each, for a total estimated value of $28,290.

No information was immediately provided regarding any arrests connected to the burglary
