STARLINK LAUNCH TUESDAY NIGHT FROM VANDENBERG
SpaceX is targeting Tuesday, August 11, for the launch of Starlink Group 17-49 aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.
Launch Window: 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM PDT Sunset: Approximately 7:48 PM Payload: 24 Starlink satellites Mission: Communications Trajectory: South, heading farther out over the Pacific Ocean Orbit: Sun-Synchronous Orbit (SSO)
The Falcon 9 first-stage booster, B1103, will be making its 5th flight. Following separation, the booster is expected to land on the autonomous droneship Of Course I Still Love You (OCISLY), positioned in the Pacific Ocean off Baja California, west of Isla Guadalupe.
B1103 last launched on July 16, 2026. If needed, a backup launch opportunity is available Wednesday, August 12, beginning at 7:00 PM PDT. With the launch occurring around sunset, conditions could make for a great view across portions of Southern California, depending on weather, trajectory, and the exact launch time.
