Teen sentenced in Rosamond Sierra Highway homicide; co-defendant still facing charges
A teen charged in connection with the fatal shooting on Sierra Highway in Rosamond has been sentenced in juvenile court.
According to prosecutors, Ismael Robledo, who was 15 at the time of his arrest, received a baseline term of seven years to be served in a juvenile facility operated by Kern County Probation Department.
Earlier this week, Robledo admitted to first-degree murder and admitted the crime was committed to benefit a street gang.
The case stems from a fatal shooting that happened March 30 in the 2500 block of Sierra Highway in Rosamond. Both teens were arrested the following day.
The Kern County Coroner's Office previously identified the victim as Larry Curtis Hardin, a 52-year-old man from Lancaster.
Co-defendant Gabriel Leyva, who was 17 at the time of the shooting, remains facing charges and is scheduled to return to court on Aug. 12.
