Three Lancaster men and a Rosamond man arrested as part of a multi-county jewelry store smash and grab ring.

Reporting Supervisor: Sergeant James Mills File # T252210054 Details:

On Saturday, August 9, 2025, about 2:15 p.m., deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of a robbery at a jewelry store located in the 72800 block of Highway 111 in the city of Palm Desert. Multiple callers reported that four masked individuals entered the business, wielding hammers, destroyed several display cases, and stole more than $87,000 worth of merchandise before fleeing the scene.

The Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station Robbery and Burglary Suppression Team assumed the investigation. During the investigation, it was discovered that the incident at the Palm Desert location was one of twelve “smash-and-grab” style robberies targeting the jewelry store chain at various locations throughout Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside counties, beginning in May 2025. After an extensive investigation, the following were identified as suspects in the August 9, 2025, robbery investigation.

Ryan Hawes, a 35-year-old resident of Los Angeles J’Quan Brasher, a 27-year-old resident of Lancaster Khalil Tanner, a 24-year-old resident of Rosamond Keyon Hampton, a 20-year-old resident of Lancaster Jamail Wilson, a 24-year-old resident of Los Angeles George Diamond, a 41-year-old resident of Lancaster

Wilson and Tanner were also identified as suspects in numerous commercial burglaries within Los Angeles County.

On Thursday, September 11, 2025, with assistance from the Los Angeles County Major Crimes Bureau and Organized Retail Crime Task Force, Riverside Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit, Riverside County Gang Task Force Region-1, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation K-9 Team, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Lancaster Parole, and the Riverside County Gang Impact Team conducted a joint operation in the city of Lancaster, where Khalil Tanner and J’Quan Brasher were taken into custody without incident.

On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, with assistance from the Riverside County Gang Impact Team, the city of Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team, and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Aviation Unit, conducted a joint operation in the city of Lancaster, where Keyon Hampton was taken into custody without incident.

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, with the assistance of members of the Los Angeles County Major Crimes Bureau and Organized Retail Crime Task Force, an operation was conducted in the city of Los Angeles, resulting in the arrest of Jamail Wilson without incident.

On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, with assistance from members of the Los Angeles County Major Crimes Bureau and Organized Retail Crime Task Force, as well as the Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team, a joint operation was conducted in the city of Lancaster, where George Diamond was taken into custody without incident.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Ryan Hawes had been taken into federal custody on an unrelated matter. All suspects were transported and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center on multiple charges, including robbery, vandalism during the commission of a felony, grand theft, burglary, committing a theft with prior convictions, and conspiracy.
