DATE: October 27, 2025

INCIDENT: PC 496 – Possession of Stolen Property

LOCATION: 12200 Block of Silver Rock Road, Pinon Hills

SUSPECT(S): Jesus Andres Velez, 28-years-old, Resident of Pinon Hills

SUMMARY:

On Tuesday, October 27, 2025, at about 11:45 a.m., with the assistance from Hesperia detectives and the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Aviation, Rural Crimes Task Force served a search warrant in the 12200 block of Silver Rock Road, Pinon Hills.

The search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation to recent train burglaries in the Victor Valley area. While investigators were enroute to the address, CHP Aviation notified the investigators of two vehicles leaving the property. Investigators coordinated with marked patrol vehicles from the Phelan Sub-Station to conduct a traffic stop. When marked patrol units got behind a white van, the suspect, Jesus Andres Velez, led deputies on a 26-minute pursuit that ended in Adelanto. Velez was taken into custody.

During a search of the vehicle, a large amount of stolen property from train burglaries was discovered. Investigators continued to the residence and located a Polymer 80 pistol and a large amount of stolen property from train burglaries. BNSF Railroad Police responded and took possession of the stolen property from both the van and residence. BNSF estimated the amount of stolen recovered property was $60,479.11. Velez was booked at High Desert Detention Center for multiple felonies.
