The fire was initially reported at approximately 4 acres, running to the southeast in medium to heavy fuels with structures threatened, according to Incident Command. The fire quickly jumped Cheseboro Road to the east and continued to spread. Traffic control was requested for Cheseboro Road between Barrel Springs Road and Mount Emma Road as fire activity increased. Radio traffic indicated structures could be impacted within approximately five minutes. The fire grew to an estimated 15–20 acres, moving east at a moderate rate of spread through brush and grass, with structures remaining threatened, according to Air Attack. Incident Command advised the fire had the potential to reach 100 acres within 45 minutes. The fire later reached an estimated 30–35 acres, prompting a second alarm response. UPDATE: Crews have made good progress. The fire has now been mapped at approximately 17 acres, and some aircraft have been released, according to Incident Command. Resources remain on scene working toward containment
