π° End of an Era: Last Primm Casino Set to Close Permanently on July 4
PRIMM, NV β The final casino property in Primm is officially shutting down, marking the end of a decades-long stop for Californians heading to Las Vegas.
According to reports, Primm Valley Casino Resorts will permanently close on July 4. Employees were reportedly notified this week and residents living in company housing were told to vacate by July 6.
The closure marks the end of all major casino operations in Primm after Whiskey Peteβs shut down in 2024 and Buffalo Billβs moved to event-only operations in 2025.
For years, the Primm casinos were a mandatory stop for travelers leaving California β whether it was cheap buffet runs, gas station breaks, roller coaster rides at Buffalo Billβs, or people instantly losing money before even making it to Vegas.
The properties first opened between 1977 and 1994 and became hugely popular through the 1990s. But over the years, business declined as more tribal casinos opened throughout California. Along with the casinos, reports say the Primm Center and Flying J travel stop are also expected to close.
One more desert landmark fading into history.
