UPDATE — NEENACH WATER RESCUE The reported swimmer in the California Aqueduct has been located.

According to radio traffic, the subject was located floating in the water near 110th Street West and Johnson Road. The Battalion Chief has confirmed the subject deceased at the scene (DOA).

Initial description from the scene indicates the victim appears to be a 54-year-old Hispanic male wearing a white T-shirt and is bald.

LACoFD is now requesting LASD deputies and the Coroner’s Office to respond to the scene for investigation and recovery procedures.

Resources from Antelope Valley and Santa Clarita Valley assisted in the search operation. California Department of Water Resources had also been requested to close nearby water gates during the incident.

The identity of the deceased has not been released and the circumstances leading up to the incident remain under investigation.
